Responding where it matters most.
Gardiner Foundation invests in tactical projects that respond to emerging challenges and critical needs across Victoria’s dairy industry. These targeted, time-sensitive initiatives provide practical support where it’s needed most, helping communities adapt, recover and build resilience.
When devastating floods hit Northern Victoria in 2022, Gardiner responded quickly to support the Murray Dairy Region Floods Response & Recovery Program. The program provided tailored on-ground assistance to affected farmers, including community engagement events, Soil Pit Days, and Taking Stock – a one-on-one advisory service helping dairy businesses plan their recovery.
More recently, in response to one of the most severe dry periods on record in South West Victoria, Gardiner committed support for a region-wide drought response. Delivered in partnership with Finwell Support and coordinated through the South West Dairy Industry Leadership Group, this initiative includes:
- Fuel and grocery vouchers to ease essential household costs
- Subsidised access to legal, financial and structural business advice
- Wellbeing and resilience programs like ‘Talk the Talk’, helping service providers support farmers and care for their own mental health
These examples highlight Gardiner’s ability to act quickly and strategically, backing locally driven solutions that address immediate needs while strengthening the long-term wellbeing of Victoria’s dairy communities.
Through tactical investments, Gardiner helps ensure the dairy industry can withstand disruption, recover with confidence, and continue to thrive.
